Supporting the Healing — Yoga, Somatic Work & Meditation

Alongside Reiki, these practices offer additional ways to reconnect with your body, settle your nervous system, and deepen the healing already underway. All are offered remotely, meeting you exactly where you are — whether that's on your mat or simply in a quiet chair.

Yoga

My approach to yoga is slow, grounding, and deeply restorative — rooted in Yin, Gentle, and Restorative styles, and informed by training in trauma-informed practice. Rather than pushing the body, these practices invite stillness, encouraging tension to soften and the nervous system to settle. The mat becomes a kind of sanctuary — a small, sacred refuge you can return to again and again. This is yoga as a doorway inward, not a workout.

“Until meeting Julie, I always thought that managing anxiety and stress was a head game - something to talk through - something to work out like a mental puzzle or maze. It wasn't until I was introduced to the notion of how our bodies have memories, how our central nervous system is the first to feel the impact of our thoughts and emotions and how the body carries tensions from not just yesterday, but also from decades of patterned experiences did I begin to shift from feeling at the mercy of the world spinning around me to having some control and strategies to release and ground myself when anxious feelings were consuming me.

For me this began with joining Julie's yin yoga class weekly - something that has become an essential part of my wellness routine that has opened the door to a whole new world of understanding and appreciation for ancient techniques and the power of stillness, meditation, energy and breathwork. Efforts to slow my body, to be still, to release tension and to soothe my often-overactive nervous system have been life changing.

I crave the feeling of grounding which quiets my thoughts and helps to reduce ruminating or worrying excessively about things beyond my control. I find it fascinating that I have found so much healing and peace without really using my problem-solving skills - I just have needed to listen to my body and give it space to feel, to release, to be still and to honor its wisdom.

I am forever grateful to Julie for gently opening the door to Yin and for her sharing her experiences, wisdom and practices with me and so many in our community."

Somatic Healing

My somatic work draws on Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique — practices rooted in body awareness — alongside training in helping you internally resource: learning to notice and stay with sensations, emotions, thoughts, and judgments as they arise, without needing to fix or explain them. As the body softens, there's often more room to simply feel safe feeling. Rather than working through the mind alone, this approach meets you in the body itself, where so much of what we carry actually lives. Even offered remotely, small shifts in awareness and movement can lead to real, felt change — a softening in the shoulders, a deeper breath, a quieting of what's been on alert for too long.

Guided Meditation

Guided meditation offers a quiet space to breathe, root, and return to yourself. As a certified guided meditation facilitator, I offer sessions that are gentle and accessible, requiring no prior experience — just a willingness to pause. Meditation can stand on its own, or be woven into yoga and somatic sessions to deepen the experience. Wherever it shows up, it offers the same steady anchor: a place to land when everything else feels like too much.
